What is Lumen?
Lumen is the new UI for the PhotoShelter Library that will make the product more modern and intuitive, and will increase the speed that new features can be built, making PhotoShelter an even more powerful DAM. - 💡 Lumen Loading Speed Improvements - We have made performance improvements to the Lumen Library that result in a 30-50% faster loading time compared to the Classic Library. In addition to that, scrolling should also feel more seamless and satisfying to use, even with larger galleries.

- 💡 Embeddable HTML Code for Images and Videos - Library Staff can now generate and copy an iFrame HTML embed code for any single image or video asset from the Library, which can then be embedded on whatever platform or page HTML code is accepted. Embedded assets can be viewed and played wherever they have been embedded without needing to change the permissions on the containers in which the assets reside.

- 💡 Collection Cover Images - Library Staff can now set cover images for Collections via the actions menu when a Gallery is selected.
- 💡 Drag and Drop Cover Images - Library Staff can also set Gallery and Collection cover images by dragging and dropping the thumbnails in the center pane.
- 💡 Portal Settings in Share Dialog - In the Share dialog in the Library, we renamed the “Share Link Settings” button to “Portal Settings” to make it easier to set things like Portal visibility or passwords.
- 💡 Help Nav Link - Library Staff can now visit our support Center through the “Help” menu item in the top right menu of the Library.
- 💡 Videos Download with Metadata - Library Staff in Lumen can now choose to include updated metadata in their video files when they download them, just like they can for images. This works for videos in both single-asset download and batch-asset download.

💡 Custom Sort in Lumen - Library Staff can now set a custom sort in the Library:
- Added the ability to set the sort order of files, galleries, and collections on the Portal, including the option to custom sort.
- You can now change your personal sort and view settings at any time without changing the order of items on your Portal.
- Added “Same as Portal” sort order option to allow users to always have that container’s sort order in the Library match the sort in the Portal.

PhotoShelter's CI-Hub Integration - The CI-Hub integration is a connector that allows users to import files from PhotoShelter into the external programs:
- Microsoft 365 (Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, Excel)

- Sharepoint

- 💡 Custom Metadata - Fixed a case formatting issue that was preventing the labels for Custom Metadata from showing the original type case that users input when writing metadata. Previously the case used was title case and did not match what was input.
- 💡 Metadata Order Consistency - Made the metadata field order observed in the editing process consistent with the metadata field order observed when viewing metadata.
- 💡 Special Characters in Video Transcript Filenames - We added support for special characters in the filename of video transcription files that are created by our AI Transcription tool. This makes it so attempts to rename a transcript file without changing any characters from the auto-generated filename (containing special characters) would still allow you to save the change. Previously, this would cause an error and not let you save.

- 💡 Mortar View - View options for the Library now include a mortar view that displays file thumbnails at their original aspect ratios scaled to match in height and fit together with even white space.

- 💡 Enhanced Video Metadata - Video metadata that can be added in PhotoShelter is now as robust as image metadata. (Library side only; video metadata is not yet visible in the Portal.)

- Image Versions - Keep track of different versions of a single image file with our new Versions panel in the Right Pane of the Library. Using this feature will allow Library Staff to store image files that are versions of the same file type together and activate any version when needed. This will allow Library Staff to quickly replace a file with an updated version and have control over the version that should distributed in the Library, Portal, and Workspaces. - AI Visual Search - AI Visual Search in the Library and Portal is a new and easier way to search for images within your account using AI. With the toggle enabled, AI Visual Search will use language and image recognition to intelligently match your search term to show the most relevant images in your archive, completely independent of any metadata tags or lack thereof. This will allow Library and Portal users (with visibility access) to find images most relevant to the visual description provided by the searcher, even if metadata tags were not added to the image yet. Analytics Updates - We have modified some of our reports in the PSB Analytics Dashboard.
- We now report the "Top 10 Search Terms" instead of Top 5.
- Clicking on the segments of file types in the "Downloads by File Type" report will show a more granular breakdown of file formats downloaded (i.e. within the Images segment, the number of JPG, TIFF, RAF, etc.).
- Search terms in "Top 10 Search Terms" report will ignore case sensitivity and count the same search term regardless of capitalization (i.e. "Jaguar" and "jaguar" will count as one search term).
- Library Load Time - Thumbnails now load 4 times faster in the Library with our latest efficiency updates. This speed increase will be noticeable for galleries with 250+ files and especially noticeable for galleries with 1000+ files.

- RAW File Preview Improvements - Significant improvements have been made to the display of RAW files in the Library and Portal. This change will use the embedded JPG preview that cameras usually provide along with RAW files, thus making it so your preview files in-camera look the same when viewed in PhotoShelter. - SSO Updates - Our Single Sign-On system now allows verification against two signing certificates, making the changeover between old and new certificates downtime-free and seamless. Because more than one signing certificate can be stored at a time, this enhancement means less manual coordination is needed between our Tech Support Team and your organization’s IT team, ensuring the signing certificate stays up to date as long as we are provided both certificates. If your organization uses Single Sign On with PhotoShelter and your IT team knows the certificates will be renewing soon, have them send our Technical Support team the updated SAML2 metadata and we will add the secondary certificate to our setup.
- Library Automated Tag Search Field - Library Staff can now search for Automated tags specifically with the addition of the Automated Tags field in Library Search. This field will search within all AI tag types applied to your images (i.e. PeopleID, ObjectID, etc.).

The new default for "Who can see this gallery?" will be set to inherit from the selected collection's permissions (if one is selected before creating a new dialog). The old default used to be "No One but Me," but inheriting by default should help streamline the portal view for Invited Users more easily. Visibility setting can be changed within the same interaction if you do not want to inherit permissions.

- Smart Galleries - Smart Galleries are a feature available to all PhotoShelter for Brands accounts that will allow Admins and Editors to turn Library searches into galleries that automatically populate with content in the Library. They save you time by automatically organizing your files using metadata from your search criteria.
For example, if you want to create a gallery that always contains the latest photos of a specific person, subject, or thing, you can search for it in the Library, then save the results in a Smart Gallery that will always be up-to-date whether files are added, removed, or when metadata changes. If you need to adjust that search, you are able to edit the Smart Gallery as well. This saves your Library Staff and Invited users the time of searching when you'll have Smart Galleries that will always contain the latest content.

- On the Portal, searching for a term that also happens to part of the name of your account, will no longer return all possible search results. In other words, if you search for “greenland” on the Visit Greenland Portal, you will only see results actually tagged with “greenland”.
- Now, when you batch download files from the Library or Portal, you’ll only need to download a single file regardless of how many files you selected. In other words, you’ll never have to download, unzip and then manual recombine groups of files because your download got split into multiple download files.

What's new
- We've completely overhauled the experience of searching for files on the Portal. The new design perfectly matches the experience of browsing through Galleries with the added ability to instantly filter your search results by files you can download, file type, orientation, date, or Custom Metadata.
- We're now indexing all IPTC Core metadata fields so that your files can be found in search if as little as one field contains a relevant search term.
- Results are now displayed using our new thumbnail design for a seamless browsing experience between search and galleries. Design is also responsive to fit a wide range of screen sizes and devices.
- Thumbnails of search results will now load continuously with no need to click-through to the next page, even if there are thousands of results.
- New single file search result view. Browsing individual search results now looks and feels the same as browsing files in a gallery. If applicable, Custom Metadata fields now appear alongside other file metadata and you can click any IPTC keyword to start a new search. This view is also responsive for a wide range of devices.
- Invited Users can use the new filter panel to narrow their results to only the files that fit their needs (including only the files they can download).
- Type: Limits results to a specific file type, like images, video, audio, or files. Please note PDF files are classified as image file types.
- Orientation: Limits results to a single orientation of image and/or video, like horizontal. This is useful whenever you need a file to fit a specific layout.
- Only files I can download: Limits results to only the files that an Invited User can download while logged in. This highly-requested filter is very useful when you want to find the most actionable content.
- Priced: Limit results to only images that are available for purchase. (This filter will only display if your organization is using our ecommerce features.)
- Date from / Date to: Limit results to images created on, after, or within a specific date range.
- Custom Metadata: Limit results to files tagged with specific custom metadata. (These filters will only display if your organization is using our Custom Metadata feature.)

- We've added a "copy to clipboard" button to links in the Library so you can more easily copy links to Collections, Galleries or files on the Portal.
- We've updated the designs of various buttons and icons in the Library.

- In the Library, when you select a group of files then perform a batch action (e.g. edit metadata) your selection will be maintained after the action is complete so that you can take additional actions on the same set of files (e.g. add them to a new Gallery) without having to select the same set again.

The License Alerts workflow is now available on Libris Professional and Enterprise subscriptions.
- The License Alerts workflow helps reduce risk for your organization by making image license tracking transparent and seamless. After your Admin enables this workflow:
- You can add a License Expiration Date to images in your Library
- The Admin and Editors will receive a daily email notification about any images with upcoming License Expiration Dates
- Those images will be automatically watermarked with license expiration info in the Library and on the Portal. This watermark is for display only; it will not be visible on downloaded images

Introducing Custom Metadata for Libris!
Custom Metadata is a helpful way for your staff to customize their tagging and searching experience; this feature makes it easier for staff to organize images in the Library, and for Invited Users to find images on the Portal
Custom Metadata allows images to be easily searched for with standardized search terms, called “Tags.” Tags are grouped together under a “Field”
Libris Admins and Editors are able to create Tags and Fields. They can also turn the Fields on, so that they’re visible in the Library and/or the Portal.
Admins, Editors, and Taggers are able to apply Tags to images in the Library
Searches can be performed using Custom Metadata in the Library and on the Portal

Introduced the ability to copy images to another Libris account directly from your Library
They will be unique files, so altering an image in the original Libris account will not change it in the second Libris account
Taggers will not be permitted to transfer and will not see the action in the Actions menu
When viewing image thumbnails in the Center Pane, select the image(s) you'd like to transfer, and click Actions->Copy to another account
The copied images will land in a gallery in the “Incoming Shoots” collection called “UP: [description] - [First initial Lastname] - [Date]” and will inherit the permissions of that collection
Video transfer is not supported
This action is visible to any Admin or Editor who also has Admin, Editor, or Contributor access to another Libris account

The majority of Contributor uploads will now be directed to the “Incoming Shoots” collection in the Library, instead of the root level
The uploaded gallery will inherit the Visibility & Access settings of the "Incoming Shoots" collection
"Incoming Shoots" collection behavior:
If your Library does not already have an "Incoming Shoots" collection, it will be auto-generated upon the next Contributor upload, and its Visibility & Access will be set to “No one but me"
If you change the Visibility & Access of that collection, Contributor uploads will still be directed there, and they will inherit the new Visibility & Access settings
If you change the name of the collection, a new "Incoming Shoots" collection will be regenerated upon the next Contributor upload, with Visibility & Access set to “No one but me”
If the Contributor enters something in the Description field of the uploader, that term will be appended to the IPTC Keyword field of the image as a single keyword (in addition to its current appearance in the gallery name, e.g. "UP: Ribbon cutting ceremony - J. Smith - 03 Mar 16”
These changes apply to any Contributor uploads from the Contributor web uploader, the desktop uploader, and the Lightroom export function
Uploads from other methods will still be directed to the root level of the Library

PORTAL UPDATES:
Improvements to the Editor, Tagger, and Contributor new user experience:
Editor or Tagger: go to your Library, or read more about getting started as a staff member
Contributor: upload files, or read more about getting started as a Contributor
Clearer account invitation email to let users know what they're accessing
After activating their account on your Portal, the user will be shown some next steps to get them oriented and start working:
Enhanced the Contributor upload experience:
The uploader will detect whose Portal the user is logged into, and will route uploads to that organization's Libris account (previously Contributors had to choose which organization to upload to, if they had access to multiple Libris accounts)
If the Contributor also has a PhotoShelter Photographer account, the uploader will also let them know they can transfer images to that Libris account directly from their own Image Browse, a very efficient upload method
An Upload link will appear in your Portal's top nav when a Contributor is logged in, which takes them to the Contributor web uploader

Keywords now display in alphabetical order
If an image/video has a long Description/Caption, the viewer can now scroll within the metadata pane (rather than having to scroll down on the page), so the image/video always stays within view
Images/videos will resize as available when “Less Info” is toggled
Images/videos will no longer display larger than the screen size
Mobile devices: made various font style, spacing, and page control tweaks to improve navigation and better match the desktop experience

Introducing logo support & color customization for Libris Portals!
Workflow tip: have your Portal open in a separate browser window while you work on the settings, then refresh the page to see the changes live on your Portal
Admins and Editors can access logo & color settings on the new Site Customization page (Admin->Site Settings->Site Customization)
You may upload an image or use text as your logo
Image logos may be JPEG, GIF, or PNG. Minimum height of 136px is recommended
Color customization settings include Logo [if text is used as a logo], Navigation Text, Navigation Background, Body Text, Body Background, and Links
Changes on the Site Customization page will be saved automatically (except for the color picker, which requires you to save your chosen color)

Users with multiple roles or access points can switch between accounts easily
Logged-in Portal users can access their profile via the "Hi, [first name]" top nav link

Faster loading time in a gallery's thumbnail view, especially for extremely large galleries
When you click on a gallery in the left pane, the right pane (thumbnail view) will clear immediately
For a large gallery, thumbnails are gradually loaded. The gallery name and first batch of thumbnails will appear right away. As you scroll down, more thumbnails will be loaded
Improved search performance: results will return faster
Bug fix: inverse sort order option in the Library was not being reflected properly in the gallery thumbnail view on the Portal
