Using TikTok with Socialie
TikTok is now a supported channel in Socialie. This article walks through how suggesters distribute TikTok content to their partner network and how publishers authenticate their TikTok account so performance data flows back into Socialie.
Overview
TikTok for Socialie lets brands (suggesters) distribute TikTok-ready video content to their partner network. Publishers receive the suggestion in their Socialie account and post it directly to their own TikTok account — the same way they already do for channels like Instagram, Facebook, and X.
Publishers can receive and post TikTok content with or without a connected TikTok account. However, to track post performance back in Socialie, publishers must authenticate a TikTok Business account. Without authentication, the post still goes live on TikTok, but analytics will not flow back into Socialie reporting.
Who this article is for:
- Suggesters distributing TikTok content to their partner network
- Publishers receiving and posting TikTok content on behalf of a brand
For Suggesters
Distributing TikTok content
Creating and distributing a TikTok suggestion works the same way as any other channel in Socialie:
- Create a new suggestion from Socialie or set up a rule to distribute for TikTok.
- Upload your TikTok-ready video content.
- Select TikTok as the channel for the suggestion.
- Add your caption, hashtags, and any notes for your publishers.
- Send the suggestion to the publishers in your network.
Your publishers will see the suggestion in their Socialie account and can post it directly to their TikTok from there.
Tracking TikTok performance
Once publishers post your TikTok content, analytics will appear in your Socialie reporting alongside the metrics from your other channels — provided the publisher has authenticated their TikTok Business account. If a post is missing analytics, the most common reason is that the publisher has not yet connected an authenticated TikTok Business account.
If you notice a publisher has not authenticated TikTok yet, you can reach out to them directly and point them to the authentication steps in the next section.
Turning off TikTok Capabilities
In the case that you do not want to be able to suggest content to publishers via TikTok, go to Settings>Publisher App Settings>Enabled Platforms and toggle off TikTok. Then your publishers will not see the option to authenticate TikTok.
For Publishers
Do I need a connected TikTok account to receive content?
No — you can receive and post TikTok suggestions with or without a connected TikTok account. However, we strongly recommend authenticating a TikTok account in Socialie so performance data flows back to the brand suggesting the content. A TikTok account is free to set up on TikTok if you don't already have one.
How to authenticate your TikTok account
Follow these steps to connect your TikTok Business account to Socialie:
- Log in to your Socialie account.
- Click Settings in the main navigation.
- Open the Social Accounts section.
- Click Add Account and select TikTok from the list of channels.
- You'll be redirected to TikTok to authorize Socialie. Log in with the TikTok Business account you want to use.
- Review the permissions Socialie is requesting and click Authorize.
- You'll be returned to Socialie. Your TikTok account will now appear in your list of connected accounts.
Once authenticated, analytics will automatically flow to Socialie for any TikTok posts you publish from that point forward.
Otherwise, you can simply connect your Tiktok account when you receive a Tiktok suggestion from Socialie. Simply select to post to Tiktok and you'll be taken to Tiktok first to sign in and connect your account.
Posting a TikTok suggestion
Posting to TikTok is slightly different than other platforms because TikTok does not allow direct posting from Socialie. Please follow these steps to post suggested content to TikTok:
- Open the suggestion from your Socialie inbo
- Review the video, caption, and any notes from the suggester.
- Make any edits you'd like (captions, hashtags, etc.)
- Copy the caption and click to post on TikTok. If you’re on a desktop, you’ll also need to download the content.
- Click Post to open TikTok, and post the content directly within that tool.
Troubleshooting
I posted a TikTok, but analytics aren't showing up in Socialie
This almost always means the publisher's TikTok account wasn't authenticated at the time the post was published. Confirm the publisher has completed the authentication steps above. Note that analytics only flow for posts published after authentication — posts made before connecting the account won't retroactively report data.
I don't see TikTok as an option in Settings
